Introducing: Truman, The Wonder(ful) Dog.

Say hello to Truman, our new little buddy.
We think he's spectacular.
Quite stylish too.

Truman is a happy little fellow.
Truman Capote when we're feeling formal.
He's fit into our family like peanut butter and jelly.
Like mashed potatoes and gravy.

I've waited a few weeks to debut Mr. Truman.
For you see, there is some sad news too.

Our sweet Mike, who was in so many of my posts -
Has passed away. It was quite sudden.

(He dropped dead in our living room. Horrid scene.)
We miss him so very much.

Sigh. Michael Finnegan. Mikey. Sigh, again.
Total bummer.

Thank goodness for Truman, who's helped us to heal.
(Who loves hugs and kisses, toys and blankets? Truman.)
Plus, he looks great in hats.
Like Norton, from The Honeymooners.

** You have all been so sweet.
Thank you all for your lovely comments about Mike, the dog.
Giant hugs for all you.**

xo jeanne.

  1. hello jeanne,
    and hello truman !!
what a lovely doggie , he is soooo sweet, my two babys would loove him
    warm wishes
    big warm hug because mike
PS: sorry for my bad English ...

  2. Oh I am so sorry for your loss, how awful but I understand. I found my 9 year old perfectly healthy cat dead on the floor.
So glad u have Truman to give u love.

  3. I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet Mike... that must have been truly awful and is a testament to how much you loved Mike that you would want to bring another dog into your life! Truman could not be any cuter...he is a real heart stealer...

  4. Hi there :) Please give Truman a big "howdy ho!" from me. He is adorable, and clearly, SO ready for love and toys and snacks and hugs and kisses!

I shrieked out loud when I read about poor Mike! What a horror that must have been for you!! I'm glad he was with you when he passed though - to see the people you love as you go? A little less sad. I have 2 pups, and I often kiss their heads and tell them "live forever!" Dog years just aren't long enough. Sigh. But the adoration we give and get in return makes it so worth it. :) (I'm looking at Shiloh now, who is asleep on my bed with her sweet head on my pillow. My heart just grew 10 more sizes, just like the Grinch's!!)

I'm looking forward to checking out your stuff here - this is my first visit! :)

  5. So so sorry to hear about Mike. He looked like such a huggable fellow, I was rather fond of seeing your pics of him.
A proper howdy do to Mr. Truman! We now have another thing in common - Boston Terriers! My Frank is my constant companion, while Lucille much prefers my hubs...or hiding somewhere dark and cozy. (She considers herself part cat!) They are the best dogs. I wish you many years of enjoying his company!

  6. Oh poor Mikey! And poor you and yours! So sorry to hear about the lost of a beloved. Truman looks like a nice addition and so cute to boot!

  7. All I can say is my heart goes to you for your loss of you beloved Mike. That and yes, Mr. Truman is definitely the doggie Norton.

  8. I am so sorry about poor Mike. He seemed to live a good life. I, too, had a dog who would eat through walls when we left her. And then she ate our mattress. And then she tackled the Christmas tree. And then she opened the fridge and laid out a feast for our other dog and her...and even though she has been gone over 13 years we still laugh and tell stories of our little Mojo. What a blessing she was! I'm glad your family has found Norton to help with the pain. I'm sure he's going to be just as big of a blessing as Mike was!

  9. I hate loss. I've had my share and I just hate it. Hate it for you too.

Least it sounds like poor ole Mike didn't suffer. Okay, now I'm gonna send my sad post..and take my sad face to another blog.

    I'll be back tomorrow.

    Gloria in Virginia :-(
