Laundry Room: Before - not pretty.

  Our house has tons of nook and crannies. Almost too many.

It is way too easy to store things and forget about them. 

Over our vacation, our area had a bad storm and our basement flooded. We got the call from the person who was taking care of Mike, the dog.  So we called Mike, the friend.
He came over and bailed 12 WetVac loads of water...all while we were 3000 miles away. We owe him big time.   No permanent damage, only water clean up. All is well.

But, the very awful laundry room went straight to the top of the redo list. It was time for a major clean out to get to the still wet spots. This is a silent victory because now I get make it fabulous! Now people, beware. The before pics are scary. As in, "gross."  My laundry room was not a place I took people on tours.  (but soon it may be!)

The original owners put these slatted doors everywhere in the basement.

Dust and spiders love them. They are going away.

We just had make-shift shelving and discarded cabinets from old jobs....

The upside down cabinets... creative? Um, no.

We cleaned. We swept. We de-cobwebbed. The Cabinet Maker dismantled a wall that turned out to be more of a hindrance then a handy storage space. It's now gone.

Its already changed since I took these pics

 and my ideas of fabulousness are brimming over.

When I'm done you won't recognize the place.
