This past Saturday, Decorating co-captain Linda and I
hit a citywide garage sale in Minneapolis.
It was fantastic from beginning to end! I picked her up at 7:30 and we were off!

The weather couldn't have been better and neither could our finds.
Seriously, the whole day was crazy good.
We've been to citywide sales, but we've never seen so many.
We parked in the first spot we found. Then literally walked the rest of the day.
The streets were lined with cars, sales and people.
This is right by where we parked and the start of the day.
When I say there were throngs of people, I mean it.
We had never seen anything like this:
Below:
At this house with the crowd and the capitalism sign,
a dude sang to Linda in Brazilian; hoping he'd croon her into buying some of his jewelry.
No dice.
Along the way, there were children peddling their wares.
The cool kid played accordion for cash.
The brooding kid had the coolest cookie & coffee stand ever.
I hated leaving this fantastic mirror behind. At $50 it was over my budget.
Still a good price, but I just couldn't swing it.
Linda graciously posed with our full and very heavy cart. Thank goodness we had it.
We came across a sale where the garage floor was full of clothes.
Women were literally sitting in the piles and sifting thru it. I opted to pose with a scarf.
(at this point we were delirious and punchy.)
Here's our Haul:
Ignore the marked prices. We haggled.
Along the way we bought corn dogs at a stand to rejuvenate our energy and
cookies from kids. Nothing but gourmet for us.
FYI - the shoe horns, $1. The chippy frame, $2.
The Bandages jar, $5. The concrete floral thingy, $5.
Wooden hangers - free.
Rachell Ashwell queen duvet and sham set- new...$10.
Both Linda and I grabbed a set.

I know when I got home I was exhausted.
But the day was so gorgeous, I spent an hour pulling weeds in the yard.
Then I read my book on the front porch with an iced tea.
A pretty fabulous day!

Ha! I think we might have been at the same sales! I saw the ladies with the piles of clothes - that was funny! It didn't draw me in! I think I would have fought you for that bandage jar - nice find! I'll post about my finds soon here!
