Fa La La Fabulous!

Love the bulb wreath!
Back to my house where December is flying by!  I wasn't happy with the results when I first did the Wordy Fireplace this past Fall.  I know, call me crazy but it just wasn't quite right and it's bugged me.  So over the weekend I redid it.  This time instead of hanging the tar paper first, I laid it out on the floor and wrote the words. Much easier. Also, this time I didn't write a quote. I wrote the names of family members, pets, street addresses and numbers.
I am really happy with the results the second time around:

Very fun and very easy.  My kids look up and love seeing their names up there.  Also I found the big rectangle mirror at Goodwill for $15.  I made the bulb wreath over the weekend too.  (who needs sleep?)  It has a mix of new and vintage bulbs.
  • It was super easy to make: Just a floral styrofoam ring, a glue gun and bulbs.
  • (tip: if you make one, gather lots of bulbs, then gather more, you'll need 'em.)
My little village is new from last year's Christmas sales. Amen!  For me it's been fun to get away from the traditional red and green and stretch my wings a bit.   The wreath is hung  from the mirror frame with fishing line. Look close and you'll see the picture hook on the frame.

Next up is the Nativity.
I painted this set a loonnnng time ago; 1989.   It's usually the first thing I put out each year. This year I punched it up a bit by hanging the snowflakes above it with fishing line.  Just go with it here and pretend they are stars..lol.   Husband Paul made the bookcase a few years back and  I painted it black this past summer.   Totally fab.

Before I head off to my pillow, here's the cutest little Santa Boots and a darn adorable vintage box:

The tree is yet to be put up........ soon, very soon.

  14. First, I'm glad you added the "Followers" widget. It's now official...I'm following! ;)

Second, the wall words on the fireplace are sooo cool (or should that be hot, since it's a fireplace). And I like the large mirror in the middle now better than the original set up. Thanks for linking it to my party.

Third, please be sure to come by and enter my fantastic year-end giveaway. Click the picture in my sidebar for details.

Blessings and a very Merry Christmas!
